Expert Answers about Ford Trailer Jack

  • Trailer Jack Dimensions for the Bulldog Round Pipe Mount Swivel Jack
  • Hey Kelly, so clearance as we define it, is going to be the distance from the mounting bracket to the top of the jack tube excluding the handle. Both of the extended and retracted measurements are going to be taken from the bottom of the footplate to the top of the jack tube excluding the handle. So the Bulldog # BD178101 measures 11 1/4" retracted, and 21 1/4" extended.

  • Mounting Flange Diameter of Phoenix Electric Trailer Jack
  • Hey Byron, thanks for writing in, and the mounting flange is 5.3" (or 5-5/16") on the Phoenix Electric Trailer Jack # UF38-944040. You made an awesome choice here with the Phoenix as it's as good as it gets for an A-frame jack. The thing cooks in regards to travel (at least relative to trailer jacks), extending 6" in 9-1/2 seconds. I also thought you might want the rest of the dimensions so I went ahead and got ahold of the manufacturer to get all the dimensions of the Phoenix # UF38-944040.

  • Recommended Trailer Jack for a Trailer With a 2K Tongue Weight Rating
  • Hey Bob, I don't know of any safety concerns regarding the Bulldog Round, A-Frame Jack # BD155033 and the tongue weight does not change. This jack has a 2,000 lb lift capacity, so as long as your trailer's tongue weight is less than 2,000 lbs, this'll work great.

  • A-Frame Jack Recommendation For Keystone Hideout 24BHWE
  • Hi George, I see you've been interested in adding an electric A-frame jack to your Keystone Hideout 24BHWE since at least 2020 when you first asked, so hopefully we can get that resolved today so you can very easily raise and lower your trailer. Since your trailer has a GVWR of just under 7,420 lbs and a jack will only lift up - at most - 15% of that weight, capacity is not going to be a factor at all. With that in mind, there is one option that I absolutely like more than the rest, which...

  • How to Determine Trailer Axle Hub Face to Hub Face Measurement
  • To get the hub face to hub face dimensions on your Magic Jack trailer axle you'll want to put the trailer on jack stands so that you can take the wheels off and then measure from one hub face to the other hub face. I have linked a diagram below to show you exactly where to measure. The closest we are going to have to 101" is going to 95" like the Dexter Trailer Axle w/ Idler Hubs item # 7359765-I you were looking at.

  • What is the Weight of Electric Ground Control TT Automatic 5-Point Travel Trailer Leveling System?
  • The Electric Ground Control TT Automatic 5-Point Travel Trailer Leveling System # LC672136 weighs a total of 484lbs. But do remember this is going to be replacing your current tongue jack and stabilizers so you are likely only looking at around a 200lb increase over your current weight with the additional electric jacks, bracing and wiring.

  • SnapPad Jack Pads For A 2024 Jayco Pinnacle 5th Wheel Trailer
  • There's unfortunately not a guide to tell us the sizing of your trailer's jack pads so you'll want to measure and note the shape of each pad. I've run into numerous situations where the front and rear pads were either different sizes or shapes to work with the space available. The SnapPad # SN88FR you were looking at are designed to fit four 9" round pads and two 12" round pads. If you can let me know what your shape and dimensions are I'd be happy to pick out the correct package.

  • Best Way to Measure Tongue Weight For Weight Distribution
  • There can be weight applied to the tow vehicle, so to measure tongue weight for weight distribution at a commercial scale, what you want to do is, with your vehicle and trailer fully loaded like you're headed on a trip, drive on to the scale with all 4 wheels of the truck and record the weight of the truck with the trailer attached. Then unhook the trailer and jack up the trailer tongue so there is no weight on the hitch ball (make sure that the trailer jack is not on the scale). Record...

  • Replacement Electric A-Frame Jack for 2024 Coleman Lantern LT
  • I'm not 100% sure which floorplan of the 2024 Coleman Lantern LT you have, possibly the 17R. Regardless, the Stromberg Carlson Electric A-Frame Tongue Jack - 2,500 lbs # JET-2500 will be more than enough for your travel trailer. Even the heaviest of the models wouldn't come close to 2,500 lbs of tongue weight. It wouldn't hurt to get the # JET-3755 if you wanted it to move a little faster but it isn't necessary.

  • Emergency Exit Window Seal For A 2009 Sunset Creek Travel Trailer
  • Hello Jack. It is quite possible that we will have a replacement window seal for your 2009 Sunset Creek travel trailer. I do not have a way to look up exactly what size and shape of seal you would need though. Generally, when replacing this kind of seal, we would get dimensions and a profile of the current seal, and try to find a match. For example, the Rubber Window Edge Weather Strip # SR43FR that you were looking at is 1/4" wide and 1/2" tall. You can see a picture of the side profile...

  • Info Needed to Replace Leaf Springs on Forest River Camper
  • Hey Larry, so I can help but I don't know exactly what spring you will need. We will need to know the axle capacity that his on your Forest River and the length of the spring. To get the length the best way is to remove it altogether but otherwise you can can jack up the frame of the trailer to get the load off the springs and then measure from bolt hole center to bolt hole center keeping in mind that springs tend to stretch a little bit as they wear out.

  • Recommended Replacement 26 Inch Leaf Spring
  • For a 26" long replacement spring, I recommend the 6-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 6,000-lb Trailer Axles item # e94SR. This spring works with 6,000 lbs axles and each spring has a 3,000 lbs capacity. To confirm this is the correct spring you will want to measure your current springs with the weight off of them. They'll stretch out over time so the best way to get an accurate measurement is to jack up one side of your trailer and measure the springs from eye bolt to eye bolt. If you've already...

  • Recommended Leaf Springs for a 2018 Jayco Jay Flight Travel Trailer
  • There's no database of what size springs are on your Jayco trailer so you'll need to take a measurement. To start out with you'll need to jack one side of your trailer up to get the weight off of the suspension. The springs stretch out through the years of use so taking the weight off of them stops this. Once you've done this you'll want to measure from center to center of the leaf spring's eye bolts and count the leaf's. The 5-Leaf Double-Eye Spring item # e34SR you were looking at measures...

  • Replacement Leaf Springs For A 2022 Forest River Cherokee Wolf Pup 16FQ
  • Hi David, In order to find the correct replacement leaf springs for your trailer we'll need to know the eye-to-eye measurement of the spring. You'll want to loosen the lug nuts on one wheel and then jack up that side of the trailer by the frame to remove the wheel and let the axle hang. You'll then measure from the center of one eyelet to the center of the other eyelet to find the length. The next step is to look at the weight capacity of the axle to determine the correct capacity springs....

  • What Hitch Extension Is Needed On GMC Sierra To Carry Slide In Camper With Tailgate & Tow a Trailer
  • Without knowing the exact weights for your trailer and assuming you have a 2" receiver we do have the Gen-Y Hitch Extender # GY89SR. The extender is going to add 14" of length to your ball mount and with the 13" you have for clearance on the trailer this should allow you to clear your tailgate. This is capable of being used with a ball mount to tow a trailer up to 10,000lbs with up to 500lbs of tongue weight. Do note it does reduce your receivers towing capacity by 50% of its rating. If...
